I am Atheist bordering on Agnostic. My Dad is a Pagan/Wiccan Priest And my reason for such... Well.. *Looks around to make sure she won't get hit by any Religious Folks* I was raised to go to Church, Sunday school when I was a kid. I mean my family isn't like big time religious, but we had friends there. My ex-step dad was air force.. and this was in Scotland mind you. But it's like the older I got, the more skeptical I became. I began to dislike the fact that in order to be 'loved' in the eyes of the Lord you had to be THIS way or THAT. I've always been a Skeptic and as I grew older my skeptism grew. I am the kind of person who wants to see real proof before believing in something outlandish or extraordinary. Until I see someone rise from the dead, as they say Jesus did, I am not going to believe it can happen. I see do not see any logical reasoning for such, or how it could be possible. I pissed off one Pastor, since he was a mean ole' fuck, so rude.. it was either his way or no way, by saying. "How do you know that he was even real? Why because some book says so? Do you have viable proof? No some crack monkey could of written that book and all this time you've followed a false god" Needless to say, I was kicked out after that.. Dude, Okay.. if People wanna be Catholic, Baptist (Which I was raised), Lutheran etc. Then that is fine. I have friends of all religions.. but when a person begans to preach to me, pushing their religion on me when I don't do it to them, I get pissed off. I respect their religious boundaries and I'd like them to give me the same respect, you know? I dislike being told How to Dress, How to Live, How to Be, What to believe, What to tell my kid (One church said NO to Santa Claus..) I know I am a good person, everyone sins.. you really can't always help that.. but I know I am a good person -- who trys my best to help others, be there for my family and the like. And I do not believe I should have to bow down to a man in a Dress and Sandals and ask for forgiveness all the time. I got one life to live too and it won't be lived in servitude ;D

Ha, wow. I heard most Atheists were forced to go to church when they were little. It's funny how that works out. I understand what you mean though. I hate it too when people try to tell me what to do or be. I don't mind them telling me about their religion, just back the fuck away when you're trying to convert me, 'cause the chances are it isn't gonna happen.
That's cool your dad's a Wiccan Priest though. My mother's interested in Wiccan stuff, be she seems interested in all kinds of religions other then Christianity or Catholicism. (LOL). She can heal people and shit...it's pretty cool. I suppose she's like a Mystic or something.
My dad is like you, an Ath. He doesn't believe in shit until there's some sorta proof.
As for me, I don't know what the hell I am. I walk around the world thinking everything is possible. So, okay, there could be a Jesus, I'm not gonna deny him or God just because there's no evidence. I mean, you can never really see something if your mind isn't open to it in the first place. However I'm not gonna believe in either of them because if they're real, there will be some way of 'seeing' them. I don't believe in anything pretty much...I suppose I just believe everything & anything is possible.

People are locked inside you and hung from a high place. A chain around their neck forces them to stand, and once they are dead from starvation or the elements, birds pick their bones clean. You're probably a fan of just ignoring the people who get on your nerves. Or at least, ignoring them to the best of your abilities.
