Hell Yes there is
Some people are so flabbergasted when I tell them Goth isn't all about wearing Black Lipstick, White corpse paint, Fishnets (Coughs), Black Leather, Capes.. and what have you. The Word 'Gothic' / 'Goth' has nothing to do with it actually. It dates all the way back to the Druid Era, they worshipped a Godess called Hella, ect. HOW it got misconstrewed, I am unsure.
However, being Goth or Gothic to me is a way of Being.
People label me Goth, Gothic and I've gotten so used to it I said "Yep" lol. But to me I am more "Dark Natured". I wear black because I like the color, I am naturally pale due to being 85% european, and have waist/bum length black hair, though currently a deep blood red lol.. (Due to my indian blood - cherokee) so I do not need the white face paint, I have piercings and two tattoos because to me it's self expression. So I do it all because I want to, not because of a trend.
I actually try to stray from the proverbial 'flock'. I am no sheep! And if I were, I'd be a cool ass black one.. Fuck white and fluffy!
Oh God dude I hate when people just label right now. If you wear Black, your Goth, If you have anything rainbow like on your person, or even a keychain -- then your gay. I mean it's freakin' ridiculous. It seems that in this society, people have to place things in catagories. They have to label. They have to judge before they get to know a person, which is just ignorant on their part.
But such is the way of this world...
I wonder how the weather is on Uranus.. this time of year.. *Ponders*

No joke man. People are fucking idiots. Labels were made so people can be narrow-minded pricks & sum every 'type' of person into some sorta...well, pretty much sub-board, LOL. Society has always been pretty stupid though, so it wouldn't be surprising people waste most of their time adding people into groups. It's like how scientists put all sorts of living creatures into groups; mammals, reptiles, birds, insects, anachrids, etc. WHAT THE FUCK? Well, supposedly we evolved from apes...haha.
The gothic style is pretty cool to me, but I don't know what the hell is with the 'lesbian and bisexual' that's been thing going on. I don't know if you know about it, but 'goths' at my school are like that, and all kinds of shit online features it. I don't know if it's the trend or what, but it seems like it. However, I don't know what the hell sexual orientation has to do with being a stereotype anyway. My mother hung out with what she calls 'real goths' in the 80's, and she told me none of that shit went on, all they did was wear black 'cause they liked to, listen to Depeche Mode & Bauhaus and get drunk at gravesites. LOL. Sounds fun, ey?
I believe that though. It seems like overtime things get shitty-er and shitty-er throughout the fuckin' years. Come on, it's proof the world got shitty when emo came and emo bands hit the radios, you know? And than there was hair metal bands in the 80's...dear god. That was like, the emo of metal or something, LOL, however they didn't sing about heartbreak and being a fag, they just sung about women, sex, drugs, women and their shitty Cinderella glittery blonde hairsprayed-to-hell hair.
I don't know...this world sucks, hopefully it blows up 2012, or whatever the hell people say the world's gonna end. Wait...people've said that so many times now...LOL...damn conspiracy buffs.

casual - jeans, band shirt, hoodie or jumper going out - smart jeans, gothic top, lots of gothic make up and jewelery, new rock boots. or jeans or leather trousers, fitted band shirt, leather jacket
